Gun fire shots were reported on Harrison Avenue in Riverhead on Monday, December 7. Schools in the area were shut down for a while. There is no official report of the incident.
Board of Education Will Adopt $123 million Dollar Plan
The Riverhead Board of Education, at it's meeting tonight, is expected to adopt a plan to construct new classrooms for the Middle School, move administrators into the Roanoke Avenue school and allocate funding for parking and associated repairs.
Funding for the proposal will come from a referendum which is expected early in 2010.
Northrop-Grumman Pull Out
The Northrop-Grumman Corporation will pull out of any bidding for the construction of new tankers for the Air Force, leaving the bid field open for Boeing and Airbus Consortium.
Move will likely cost jobs on Long Island.
Lee Zeldin Makes Announcement
Lee Zeldin made his announcement to run for the NY State Senate official on Saturday. Zeldin will oppose Brian Foley (D-Brookhaven) for the seat. More info on Zeldin here.
