Blow Whistle on Terrorists at Your Own Risk
This week the United States Senate voted down an amendment to the Homeland Security bill that would have given U.S. Citizens immunity from prosecution in the event they blew the whistle on a suspected terrorist and the accused turned around and sued them.
This, of course is an outgrowth of the "Flying Imams" case where travelers at an airport felt insecure about some other passengers behavior. They reported their unease and are now being sued by the Imams. Once again our elected officials display a strange loyalty to Americans.
Convert Old Firehouse for Townhall?
Some developers have come up with an idea to convert the firehouse on Second Street into a new Town Hall. Considering the $10 million dollar tab you have to wonder if this a good idea.
Roundabout on Middle Road......a Bummer
Looking at the torn up ground and destroyed trees at the corner of Osborn and Middle Road makes it hard to believe that a traffic light wouldn't have accomplished the same thing without destroying that corner not to mention the ridiculous cost.
Forged Letters, Cauliflowers, Fire Commissioners
A story that keeps on giving. You have the feeling that someone is going to tell the real story and take down some people or an organization with them.
Kudos
Our compliments to Bernadette Budd and the Community Journal of Wading River for their continued monitoring of the Shoreham-Wading River School District. Keeps everyone on their toes.
And a big thank you to Dan's Paper for their July 4th cover page. The American flag cover was great!
