- Library Budget Vote on April 29
The Library's annual budget vote will be held from 10 am to 8 pm in the Library's Grand Meeting Room on Tuesday, April 29. Copies of the budget are available at the Library's Public Information Desk. Members of the public are encouraged to call or stop in to see the Library Director, Lisa Jacobs, with any questions or concerns.Voter registration information is available from the District Office, 369-6708.
Gas Prices In Riverhead Continue to Rise
While our representatives in Washington do nothing, gasoline, diesel and home heating oil prices continue to rise in this area. Some service stations are holding the line at $3.79 per gallon of regular, while others are charging 3.85 a gallon and beyond.
EPCAL and Apollo seem to be slowing down. The environmentalists along with the DEC have found an area of vulnerability and have brought EPCAL to a screeching halt. Meanwhile, Apollo's presentation for downtown development may have hit a snag.
