Fire District Estimates Higher Taxes
The recent announcement by the Riverhead Fire District offices that finding firemen recruits to serve as volunteers has become increasingly difficult was followed by a gloomy estimate for increased taxes. Hiring firefighters for pay will increase local taxes by millions (their estimate).
Meanwhile Marc Alessi, Assemblyman, believes he has a solution to help with the firefighter payroll if that becomes necessary.
Pulaski-Mill Road Intersection to be Resolved
Supervisor Cardinale believes that the Town may have a solution to the traffic jam that occurs at the intersection of Pulaski and Mill Road by acquiring property on Pulaski and terminating that roadway at Riverhead Centre (Waldbaum/Home Depot shopping mall.)
Upon Further Review
Sometimes you are allowed a "do over" or a "Mulligan" and that's what the Riverhead Democrats did this week. The previous announcement that Rose Sanders was a selected candidate for the November election (for Town Councilperson) was premature. Jon Stefans is now the candidate for this position.
Where Are The STAR Rebate Checks?
According to Lee Zeldin, former candidate for congress, State Senator Brian Foley of Brookhaven cast the deciding vote which eliminated the STAR Rebate Program checks to Suffolk County residents. Dean Murray, a key supporter of the Tea Party Movement, and an active petitioner for reinstatement of the STAR Rebate Check, is running against Jack Eddington in the 7th Suffolk County Legislative District and would like your support.

There have been several name changes to the organizations which supported the Tax Day Tea Parties. They all have the same objective and are working hard to get their message to the public.
