Obama Health care Causing Lots of Concern
As Congress and their counterparts in the Senate move toward a summer recess there is a lot of tough talk and accusations coming out of D.C. Sen Boxer (D-CA) says that the people who protest at Townhall meetings are part of the mob who were seen in Florida.(Bush v. Gore) The White House wants you to tell them about anyone sending out "disinformation" about the health plan including e-mailers or bloggers.
Here are some updates on the Townhall meetings and protests.
In Tampa Fla Townhall meeting conducted by Congresswoman Kathy Castor Union thugs took over the meeting pushing people around even sending one protester to the hospital.
In Romulus Mich. John Dingell (D) dismissed protesters as troublemakers including one citizen who asked for answers regarding his son's cerebral palsy.
In St Louis Mo. Russ Carnahan's (D) meeting turned ugly when protesters demanded answers.
In Washington Nancy Pelosi called the protesters Nazis while Harry Reid said that the protesters "sabotage democracy". HUH?
Before this humble blog gets shut down I have a question to ask:
If 80% of all Americans have some healthcare coverage now, just who is this Washington healthcare plan for?
Navy, County and Town Concerned About Plume
The chemical plume which has been discovered under the EPCAL property and may be contaminating the aquifer is causing much concern among environmental groups. The Navy has been cooperating by offering to reimburse the County for testing procedures and seems anxious to correct the situation. There is some concern that the plume is wider than originally thought and some believe that it may soon reach the Peconic River causing danger to fish and wildlife. A meeting has been scheduled for August 6 at the Calverton Recreation Center on River Road.
