Paterson Rejects Obama Order

Governor David Paterson has rejected the suggestion from the White House that he withdraw from running for reelection to the Governor seat in 2010.

Despite reports that he has been asked to stand aside, Paterson has reiterated his intention to run next year.

The Administration is fearful that Giuliani could run and easily defeat the weak Paterson. Many Democrat leaders remain confident that Obama's wishes will prevail.

Meet The Candidates on September 30

The Constitution Still Has Fans
One of the great stories of this year is how a young college student who thought so much of the U.S. Constitution that she created a T-shirt which simply stated on the front "R.I.P. The U.S. Constitution". It was shown on Fox and Friends one morning and her e-mail system took off and of course it got bogged down with people wanting information on how to order that T-shirt. Now there are new designs, web pages and even billboards about it. You can check it out at Matternow.org.

SWR Budget Crisis
The proposed 26% budget increase in the Shoreham-Wading River School District is a cause for much concern in that area. State Assemblyman Marc Alessi is suing the State to recoup $4 million in State aid in order to restore the District to the correct funding. The Community Journal is suggesting that the District could borrow the funds to avoid the huge tax burden.
