One More Outrageous Idea
The Attorney General (Eric Holder) will anounce today that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (mastermind of the 9/11 attacks) and 4 other Gitmo detainees will be brought to New York to stand trial. This means that these terrorists will be given full rights of trial in accordance with the Constitution whereas they were captured on a battlefield, were not uniformed soldiers or part of any army except Islamic Jihadists. This trial will take place just a few short blocks from where 3000 Americans (and other nationals) died in absolute horror. Determined to close Gitmo, the Obama administration has thus avoided the appropriate military tribunals and made a mockery of the lives lost on 9/11.

Someone Will Have to Get Very Creative

Someone once said "be careful what you wish for". ...and so the Town fathers will have to put on their thinking caps to hold down the upcoming budget. Retaining the dispatchers under Town authority will increase the budget by some 950,000 dollars. The Town's reserve fund would have been used to offset the increase in spending but now that has been challenged. Seems that the Riverhead Resorts deposits do not technically belong to the Town and would have to be legally transferred from CDA before the Town could dip into the money. If nothing goes right in this transaction, Riverhead residents may be looking at a 10% budget increase instead of 2.9% which was previously represented by outgoing Supervisor Cardinale.

In Cozzafava Country
In the famous upstate 23rd District absentee ballot counting has increased Doug Hoffman's (C) vote count and he could actually end up winning the congressional seat forcing Bill Owens (D) to take back his oath and move back to New York.
