The 912 Project group of Suffolk County has called a special meeting for the evening of February 3 (Wednesday) to introduce a potential candidate for the First Congressional District. Gary Bernsten, former CIA operative and author will talk to the group and answer questions. Bernsten hopes to become the successful candidate who will oppose Tim Bishop (D) in the November 2010 election. The meeting is at 7:00 pm in the lower level of Polish Hall in Riverhead. You do not have to be a 912 member to attend.
Senate Increases U.S. Debt Limit
The United States Senate has increased the U.S. debt limit to 14.3 trillion dollars. The increase in the debt limit is equal to the U.S. debt for the past 200 years.

Social Services Looking for Funds
Suffolk County Social Services is seeking additional funding in order to shut down the trailers in Riverside which now house sex offenders and move them into another facility.
