Walter Says Buy The Armory
Sean Walter, Town Supervisor says that purchase of the National Guard Armory on route 58 to house the Riverhead Police Department would be an excellent idea.  Walter believes that this would then allow the Town to expand several Townhall departments into the adjacent police building.  He further suggested that the Industrial Development Agency be moved across the street from Town headquarters.

Two Board Members Oppose Tax Plan
Town council members Jodi Giglio and George Gabrielsen oppose the Rothar plan to impose huge tax increases on  town residents as a way of closing the Town's huge deficit.  They prefer cutting Town spending to reduce the annual expenses even if it means letting some employees go as a result.  Jim Wooten takes the position that Town services should not be reduced at this time.  John Dunleavy has not expressed an opinion.

CBO Says We Are In A Crisis:  (Congressional Budget Office) Director Douglas  Elmendorf says that we have reached a crisis situation in this country whereby we have only two choices; reduce taxes now or institute a new stimulus.

CBO estimates that deficit will exceed Obama budget by $1.2 trillion dollars. (CBO is a non partisan arm of congress dedicated to analyzing government expenditures).
