Summerwind Gets County Bucks
The Summerwind project of 50 apartments, a 100 seat restaurant and 4800 square feet of retail space planned for construction in downtown Riverhead will receive over $2 million dollars in County funding for the project.  In addition the project will receive over $300,000 to assist infrastructure improvements to support the project.  Summerwind was given a 10 year tax abatement by the Town.

Carboard Regatta
Sunday morning at 10 am will see the first "cardboard" regatta of "boats" made entirely of carboard and tape on the Peconic River behind Main Street.  Even George Gabrielsen (Councilman) will float a boat to compete in the unique event.  Sean Walter says he will be aboard.

Basil Fungus
Beware of a fungus which seems to be attaching itself to basil leaves.  Watch for yellow bands on the upper side and tiny specks on the underside.  See it?
Don't eat it.

NY State Pension Fund vs. BP
NY State Comptroller is considering a suit against BP for the huge losses in NY State pension funds as a result of their extensive investment in BP securities.

9-12 For Cox
The Suffolk County 9-12 Project has endorsed Chris Cox to run in the Republican primary which will select a candidate in the CD-1 to oppose Tim Bishop in November.  George Demos and Randy Altshuler remain in the primary race.

5 States Considering AZ Style Immigration Law
Elements in Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and South Carolina  are considering passing immigration laws similar to that in Arizona.
