Paper Bags - a Turnabout
It appears that paper bags for leaf pickup are now going to be available after all. The Highway Department is now saying (according to the News Review) that there has been a change to the situation wherein paper bags for those pesky leaves were, at first, not being purchased and can now be picked up by residents at the Highway Department.  (Only on Friday between 10 am and 2 pm).

Fill them with your leaves left over from last fall and place them out with your garbage on regular pickup days.  No more than 10 bags per pickup.  No plastic bags with leaves will be accepted.

Town Redoing Website
The Riverhead town website is getting a makeover.  Administrators are trying to make information available to the public as quickly as possible.  Minutes of Town Board meetings are being published quickly to the site and now they are adding video clips of the meetings to the site as well.  Click on Town of Riverhead in the sidebar for the new features.  They are also working on a newly designed website as well as a site specifically for EPCAL.
