Shoreham-Mercy in Football Showdown
The Wading River/Shoreham Wildcats and Bishop McGann-Mercy Monarch football squads were scheduled to meet in a showdown game at Shoreham today at 2 pm.  Mercy may have to struggle to win a playoff berth after two tough losses while the Wildcats have a 5 and 1 record.

Another Loss for the Island
RX Therapeutics, a Farmingdale biotech company will move the company to St. Petersburg, Florida and 25 employees along with it.  Florida Governor Rick Scott says the company will also add an additional 15 workers in his state.

Occupy Wall Street Losing Support
The residents living in the downtown area of NYC are getting pretty fed up with the dirt, the noise and the behavior of the Occupiers.  They want their streets back and they want their parks back (and cleaned up too).  Bloomberg is looking at the permit situation and may take some action.  Really!!!!

East End Rowing has made application to the town to conduct a rowing regatta on November 13, 2011.

CDA Block Grant
The Town says that it expects to receive $117,523.52 in a block grant from the Federal Community Development Block Grant program.  Residents of the Town are invited  to submit their suggestions as to how the funds may be spent at the scheduled Town Board meeting on November 1, 2011 at 2 pm.
