84 Lumber to Close Doors
The 84 Lumber retail operation on East Main Street in Riverhead will soon close it's doors.  Company representatives indicate that the Riverhead operations and personnel would be consolidated with the 84 Lumber facility in Patchogue.  This is an unfortunate closing but the facility faced strong opposition from Home Depot and the newly opened Lowes mega store on route 58.  There were some rumors that Riverhead Lumber Supply would take over the 84 Lumber site but this has not been confirmed.

Two on BOE Board Unopposed.
Two candidates for seats on the Riverhead Central District Board of Education will run unopposed.  Both Tom Carson and Susan Koukounas, announced candidates for the School board, will run without opposition.  The deadline to apply as a candidate for the seats has already closed.  Carson and Koukounas are running for the seats being vacated by Willie Hsiang and Timothy Griffing who have chosen not to seek another term.
Voting for the Board seats and for the School budget will take place on May 15.
