My Views and Comments About a Few Things

Route 58
It has just occurred to me that all this store construction on Route 58 may not be such a good thing after all.  I have always liked the idea of a large Wal-Mart in Riverhead.  A big Wal-Mart is a common sight in most medium sized towns across the country.  And I really like going into a Costco to shop around.  These are two outfits that do retail well.  The proliferation of other retail shops makes me wonder, however, if we aren't in for some overkill.

58 is turning into a succession of traffic lights to provide safe turnoff into these shopping areas.  I just can't keep up with all the new stores, shops, restaurants that are turning this highway into another Sunrise Highway or Jericho Turnpike.  Hope there are enough customers to keep these stores afloat.

Health Insurance
While the health care website problems are taking center stage at the moment, the real concern must be for the hundreds of thousands who are having their health insurance terminated because their policies don't meet the standards of the Affordable Care Act.  How these unfortunate Americans will be taken care of is a serious question and must be addressed.

Regardless of where you stand on this issue you must recognize that the country has a very serious problem to deal with and no American should be cast adrift without suitable care.  Remember, all of this occurred through no fault of their own and they must be taken care of.

Voting
Truthfully. I no longer know who or which party to vote for.  Perhaps it comes from not knowing what anyone stands for anymore.  The traditional standards of morality, culture and social standards have gone out the window.  Imagine for a moment that you were a resident of New York City.  What choices are you getting for mayor?  The city is lost.  Albany is no better.  The authoritarian rule by the Governor and Assembly  give me concern for any future in this state. Despite the dire warnings about Common Core, it is now being taught in our local schools.
