Town Going Solar
Riverhead moved closer to approving plans for solar installation at the Town landfill on Youngs Avenue as well as at various parking facilties throughout the town.  The Board is preparing to vote on letting a contract to Borrego to contstruct a solar farm on 15 acres of the Youngs Avenue landfill.
According to councilman Gabrielsen Borrego has built many of the solar farms in the northeast,  Borrego earns income by selling the generated power to the utility company.  The town is supposed to share in the profits currently estimated at $190,000 a year (for the town).

Hit the Ice
The ice rink installed at Stotzky Park last year is just about ready for skating.  The skating facility had a successful launch last year and now with sustained low temperatures it looks like another good season for rink.

Obamacare a Mess
The state run exchanges in several states are having a terrible time trying to make the ACA work.  Both Hawaii and Oregon have had extremely poor launches.  Low enrollments and numerous failures have been a cause for great concern and resulted in several resignations by those responsible for the program.

Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson Returns
The controversy surrounding the popular tv show is slowing down now and the popularity of the show has never been higher.  The Dynasty marathon over the holidays has been solid and the cast seems to be getting more popular support with each day.
