.....when ghosts from the past appear, hob goblins show their ugly faces and skeletons come out of the closet. No, we're not talking about Halloween. This is about the election coming up in November. The Riverhead News-Review (October 20 issue) had a startling number of stories about irregularities in the Town of Riverhead. On the front page they spelled out a questionable alliance between one of the candidates for Supervisor and a principal in a company that the Town has been fighting in court for several years. There was our own confrontation about the asphalt plant and a story about the Supervisor's son-in-law (an attorney) advertising for zoning issue clients relating to master plan upzoning. Bad timing perhaps? What about the confusion with regard to one candidate's address. Then there is the one about sand mining permits with the DEC right in the middle. A councilwoman also holds a full time job with the County? Sounds awkward.
The Preserve Journal does not endorse candidates for any elective office. Read about the issues and the candidate's qualifications and make your decisions in the election booth, but considering all the ghosts from the past and the skeletons too - be careful out there!
