Riverhead News-Review Blows Lid on Reclamation Project

This week, in a comprehensive investigative report by John Steffans, the Riverhead News-Review provided extensive details about the huge cost overrun at the Town's Reclamation Project. Steffans, who was recently named editor at the local paper, was apparently given unusual access to the Town's staff for his story.

This story will not go away. The outrageous cost and the errors in judgment are already causing a huge turmoil within the Town and it is likely to result in some dismissals or possible resignations. Please take a minute to read. Reclamation in the News Review

Vince Tria to be Named Ombudsman

Vincent Tria, owner of the Riverhead AM radio station 1390 WRIV will be sworn in as the Town's Ombudsman at the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, May 2. Mr. Tria will serve without pay and will act as an advocate for "the people". The Preserve has it's share of problems with the Town and stands ready to avail itself of Mr. Tria's services. We understand that Mr. Tria has lots of experience working with Town Boards, Planning Boards and has a background in contracting. They had better give out numbers because there is likely to be a long line waiting to see Mr. Tria.
