Gas Boycott May Have Helped.

Town Hall Meeting on Sex Offender Trailers
Concerned citizens filled Town Hall last evening (Thursday May 17) regarding the positioning of trailers at the County Jail to house sex offenders who are being moved from a location in West Hampton. The new location outside the jail fence is within walking distance of the Riverhead Library and Public Schools on Pulaski and Harrison Streets. According to Legislator Ed Romaine, this proximity to schools is in violation of current laws. Riverhead has indicated that it may go to court if it cannot find an adequate solution with the County.
Origin of Food? Sometimes Unknown.
A recent television report on imported food products clearly indicates that most imported food products are not being inspected. Somewhat shocking to find out that much of the fish (not packaged) may be coming from fish farms in CHINA where mercury may be present. Pick up a package a garlic at your supermarket. The label may state that it a product of China. What happened? Did we suddenly run out of land to grow garlic in this Country? How many other food products are being imported that can be easily grown here? Just asking!!
