Riverhead Gas-No Change When Oil Drops
Over the past week the price of oil has dropped from a high of $147 a brl to $128.8 a brl...(about $18 a brl)...but gasoline at the pump in Riverhead remained at $4.29 a gallon. Why is that? It has been suggested that gas profits at the station level are greatest when oil goes down and there is a lag in changing the pump price downward.
