ON GOVERNOR PATERSONS
TAX CAP PROPOSAL.
Governor Paterson is faced with huge budget problems in New York State and recognizes that New York residents have reached a critical point in trying to fund every program that comes out of Albany or from local boards.
He has wisely proposed a cap of 4% on property tax increases and has received the support of over 75% of New Yorkers who endorse the proposal. This proposal was already passed by the NY Senate, but is opposed by Sheldon Silver, the Assembly Speaker who is protective of New York City interests where many residents do not pay property taxes.
Don't be fooled by those scare tactic postcards in the mail.
A 4% cap is not the greatest - but it is a start!
Protect your family from outrageous property tax increases.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------Town Will Make Additional Parking Available
Riverhead will lease, pave or otherwise find an additional 600 parking spaces for Suffolk County court facilities located in the Town. The Town expects to spend approximately $500,000 in securing additional spaces. Some parking may be restricted to "Court only" parking until the noon hour. The forenoon period usually has the heaviest demand by participants at the courts.
