Debbie Tenzer at Do One Nice Thing reminds us that it isn't too late to send a serviceman or servicewoman a Christmas package whether serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. You don't have to know a specific individual as the package can be sent to someone who will distribute the packages to the troops.
Here is what they ask for: 1. ground coffee (no decaf) Starbucks or other ok. 2. New or used magazines for men or women (no sexual content). 3. Good chocolate. 4. Holiday decoration or ornament. 5. Individual snack bags of nuts. 6. A card or note with a personal greeting. 7. Lotions, soaps or hand creams for female servicewomen. Don't have to send everything, even a card is much appreciated. Just a regular stamp on a card will make it.

Problems in Town Mounting
Seems like the economy is starting to catch up in Riverhead Town. Questions about Board members intervening in property disputes, the rejection of the Wal-Mart plan by the courts, Resorts plan at EPCAL uncertain, sidewalk repair dispute on Main Street, slowdown of the Apollo master plan for rehabbing downtown. Future elections are going to get real interesting.
