The Riverhead Charter School on rte 25 is currently operating on an extension of its operating authority and is now seeking another extension. A presentation was made before the School Board on Tuesday, January 13.



Trailers for Sex Offenders Under Review

Awaiting a hearing regarding the issue of trailers positioned at the Suffolk County jail to house sex offenders.



Suggestion to Recuse

There is now a suggestion that members of the Town Board recuse themselves from decisions regarding any transactions involving properties on route 58 of which one or more principals has made a political contribution to the party affiliated with the Board member. Not a bad idea.



Big Plum Lost to the Island

Homeland Security has announced that will award the new location for research and biological security to Kansas State University at Manhattan Kansas. The 450 million dollar lab project will provide 1500 construction jobs and an annual payroll of $25-30 million dollar for 500 employees. This is probably the end for Plum Island and another big loss for our economy.
