A Farewell to Some Great Neighbors
We, who live in The Preserve, got really lucky. Some 6 1/2 years ago (give or take a month or two) when we all moved into our homes, little did we know that we would have so many good neighbors and great friends. As I said, we got lucky.
Sadly, one of the original Preserve families is moving on to warmer climes. Lisa and Paul are the best and will be remembered fondly by all. We wish them happiness and all the best in their new home.
Phil Boyle Says Lazio is Running
The campaign manager for Rick Lazio says that Rick (of Brightwaters) has filed the required papers to run for governor of New York State. It is unclear who may also run in the Republican primary (if there is one) and it seems that other prominent GOPers may have their sights set on the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Gillibrand.
Cap and Trade Republicans in Deep Trouble
The so called Climate or Energy bill (also Cap and Trade Bill) passed by the House 219-212 has set up some interesting conflicts within the two major parties. The 8 Republicans who voted for the bill are being targeted for defeat in the next election. If this is such a great bill why did 44 Democrats vote against it? BE PREPARED TO COUGH UP HUGE PERSONAL TAX INCREASES AS A RESULT OF THIS BILL (if it passes the Senate).
Make phone calls, send e-mails or letters, but stop this bill when it gets to the Senate. Pelosi and company have crafted a disaster on the American people.
No Helicopters in Our Backyard
Here is some good news (and we need it). The courts have denied the appeal of Walter Gezari who sought to overturn the decision which had issued a temporary prohibition against helicopter landings on the north or south side of Deep Hole Road. That decision is now permanent.
