Tim Bishop Suspends Town Hall Meetings

(Politico reports that many congressmen are getting nervous about confronting constituents about the health care bill.)

Voters across the country are voicing their unhappiness with the newly proposed health care plan (Obama plan) and many can't wait to question their congressmen during the August recess.


Meanwhile, Tim Bishop (D-NY) has suspended his schedule of town hall meetings afraid that there will be a repeat of his meeting in Setauket on June 22 where many protesters shouted down Bishop about the health care plan and demanded answers.

Police had to be called and some protesters had to be removed. Meanwhile Bishop had to be escorted to his car. Similar incidents are happening around the nation.

Don't underestimate the people!


Empire/Blue Shield-East End Hospitals

Negotiations between Empire/Blue Shield and 3 East End hospitals have ended and may resume next week. The 3 hospitals are Peconic Bay Medical, Eastern Long Island Hospital (Greenport) and Southampton Hospital. Non elective services and services for seniors with Medicare and copay will continue.



Bishop Should Answer Health Care Questions

There are many serious issues regarding the new health care proposal. Will you have to drop your present insurer? What about your elderly parents or grandparents? Are Medicare benefits to be cut? Will you end up with government provided health care and will some bureaucrat make decisions about your health issues?

The Heritage Foundation has prepared an analysis of the entire bill and should be read by everyone who wants valid info.

Clunker Story...Man turns in clunker at Hyundai dealer hoping to get a $4500 discount..told it may take a few days for approval...Returns a few days later...Told that deal was not approved.....but can't have clunker back because it was destroyed....so lets see- NO NEW CAR....NO $4500....NO CLUNKER TO DRIVE HOME......NUTTIN! (but he got a ride home)!!
