GOP to Begin Screening for Bishop Challengers
Starting January 11, the Suffolk County Republican Party will begin the screening of potential candidates to oppose Tim Bishop (D) for the 1st CD Congressional seat.
Being considered are George Demos, Randy Altschuler, Fred Meyer, Jim Stadenraus, Gary Bersten and Christopher Cox (Richard Nixon's grandson).

Peter King Leaning Toward Running.
Congressman Peter King (R) had indicated that he was not interested in running for the Gillebrand Senate seat but now seems to be showing renewed interest.  He may be inspired by the number of announced retirements in the last few days: Dodd (D-CT), Dorgan (D-ND) and Ritter (D) Governor of Colorado.
