Calendar Publishers Omit Pearl Harbor
Replace it With Islamic New Year
Several of the large U.S. calendar publishers are being bombarded with objections to the printing of 2010 calendars without a note commemorating Pearl Harbor Day (December 7) and inserting a note which honors the Islam New Year instead. Brown/Trout, Blue Mountain and Publix Supermarkets are just a few of the offending publishers. The Heritage Foundation and the NRA continue to honor the almost 3000 Americans who died on that day in 1941. Check your calendars. Don't like it - send it back! Click for full story.
Superintendent to Appear At Civic Meeting
Riverhead School Superintendent, Dr Diane Scricca, will be the guest speaker at a meeting of the Greater Calverton Civic Association on Wednesday evening (7 pm) January 13 at the Riley Avenue School.
Presumably, the Superintendent will answer questions regarding the $123 million dollar building referendum recommended by the Riverhead Board of Education. Voting on the referendum will take place in February. Meanwhile the school administration has invited the public to take a tour of the school buildings to witness the need for the expenditure.

Bush 41 and Bush 43 To Appear on L.I.
Former President George H. W. Bush and Former President George W. Bush will appear at a special luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club on February 26th at 12 noon.
The Lee Zeldin for Senate group is auctioning off a limited number of tickets for the event starting at $750 per ticket. Bids are closed out as of 11 pm on January 11.
