12/22 Senate approves First Responders Health Care Bill

Water Main Break on Main Street
There has been a water main break on East Main Street in Riverhead in the general vicinity of Atlantis Marine World.  Police have shut down the roadway between Uinion and Ostarnder.

Grangebel Park Open
A formal opening of Grangebel Park in downtown Riverhead is expected in January but for now, the barriers and fences have been removed and residents have full access to the walkways and waterways in the park.

Giglio Not Taking Deferred Payment
The deferred compensation of $4750 owed to Coucilwoman Jodi Giglio will not be taken by the Board member.  She is responding to calls for Board members to take a reduction in their salaries as other Town workers are asked to do the same.  George Gabrielsen will turn back 5% of his salary as a Town councilman as a response to the same request.  Other members have not been heard from as yet.

Snow In Our Future?
Meteorologists are predicting a possibility of snow on the East End for the last few days of this week and possibly into Christmas.  Nothing firm as yet but there is a definite possibility that the white stuff will make an appearance.
