The owner of Burts Reliable fuel oil has died from burns caused by the rupturing of a fuel line connected to a tanker truck. John Romanelli 47, was also a former town councilman.
Good News for D.C. Commuters
U.S. Airways has announced that it would schedule two daily flights from Islip-Macarthur Airport to Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. starting on March 25. Flight departures from Islip will be at 6:20 am and 7:49 am with returns from Reagan at 11:35 am and 10: pm.
European-American Commences Pickups
The first trash pickups by European-American Waste Disposal began today January 3. New contractor is said to save $148 a year on property owner's tax bills and will include an extra garbage pickup on the trash pickup day.
Town Officers Sworn In
The entire slate of Town officials who were elected in November were officially sworn in to office in ceremonies at the Hyatt House ball room on Main street on Sunday, New Years Day.
9-12 Suffolk Project Meeting
The first general meeting of the conservative Suffolk 9-12 Project will be at Polish Hall in Riverhead at 7 pm on January 18.
