Timothy Hills Applies for Charter
The operators of Timothy Hill Ranch on Middle Road are preparing an application for a charter school for that or a nearby site.  The school is intended for troubled youths.


Elect LIPA Trustees.
First District Legislator Ed Romaine is proposing that the trustees of LIPA be elected  by the public.


Suffolk and Beagles
The 150 acre parcel on Edwards Avenue known as the Beagle Club will be purchased by Suffolk County for $8.9 million dollars.  The purchase was approved on a 14-4 vote.  The largely vacant parcel is part of the land preservation program and will be used for passive recreation.

School Aid Coming
NY State has announced that 90 million dollars in aid will be allocated to Long Island next year. Nassau is scheduled to receive $29.3 million and Suffolk approximately $60 million dollars.  There is no word yet as to how the aid package will reflect local school taxes
