Nine School District to Re vote
Residents of 9 Long Island school districts will head back to the voting booths today June 19,  to try it again.  Voters turned down their budget proposals as either outrageously high or would exceed the state mandated 2% cap.  Districts may only exceed the state cap if at least 60% of the voting public agree.  In the event the budget does not pass the second time around then the district must operate under the present budget making reductions where necessary.

Districts re voting June 19 include Elmont and Floral Park in Nassau  and Center Moriches, Comsewogue, East Islip, Mount Sinai, Oysterponds, Three Village and Tuckahoe in Suffolk.

(Editor's Note: All nine (9) school budget re votes PASSED.  Voters even approved the Elmont 4.9% increase which exceeded the 2% mandated cap, voting yes by 62%).

Evaluation
Aren't we all subject to evaluation?  Whether in a job, the military, in a profession?  Aren't many professionals being constantly evaluated and abilities measured by the state?  Can you not, with a few clicks on your laptop, find the level of professionalism of doctors, specialists, lawyers, real estate brokers, etc as reported by state boards?  Then whats the problem?

Valet Parking at the Kitchen
Parking next to the Farm Country Kitchen on West Main?  Expect valet parking or park somewhere else.

Late Blight
Keep an eye on those tomato plants.  Late blight, a plant disease that will turn tomato plant leaves greenish -gray  has been found in the Riverhead area.  See it on your plants? Throw out the plants before the spores attack other plantings.

Vegetable Processing OKd
The application to operate a vegetable processing and wine storage facility at the former Blackman Plumbing building on Sound Avenue in Baiting Hollow has been approved.
