Comings and Goings

Altschuler Fails in Second Bid
Randy Altschuler's bid to unseat Tim Bishop for the congressional seat in the First District failed for a second time.  In a previous try two years ago Altschuler lost by some 500 votes. He lost this time by more than 10,000 votes.

Romaine a Resounding Win
Ed Romaine, current First District Legislator was successful in his bid to win the position of Brookhaven Supervisor.

A special election will be held to replace Romaine on the Suffolk County legislature.  A number of potential candidates have been named.  Al Krupski appears to be the front runner for the Democrats and Southold Supervisor Scott Russell  and Ed Densieski have been suggested by some Republicans.

Russell is somewhat reluctant to take on the position.  Town Board member Jodi Giglio has indicated that she would decline any suggestion that she run for the seat.
