Nor'easter Was Expected Friday/Saturday
May Get Blown Out To Sea
Riverhead, Baiting Hollow and Long Island did not need another snow storm at this point.  Still plenty of snow on the ground awaiting higher temps for the meltdown.  Weathermen seem to agree that this new threat may not happen.

Meanwhile...in Brookhaven
Supervisor Ed Romaine is getting skewered by the public and the press for taking a vacation just before the big snow storm hit the island.  Apparently the Highway Department and Deputy Supervisor  let him down and now he is paying the price.  The misfortune for some may have become the good fortune for others.  This now puts Dan Losquadro, currently a NY State Assemblyman, in a good position to win the election as new Highway Superintendent for Brookhaven.

Second Amendment
Constitutionalists and Second Amendment advocates are gathering momentum on the island and across the country.  They held a strong rally in Albany this past week with several hundred joining the protest on the capital steps.  Similar rallies are being organized across the country on February 23 with over 50,000 already signed up.

The Woolworth building in downtown Riverhead will soon change hands to make way for apartments.

The Suffolk Theater in Main Street will have a grand opening on March 1.

The North Fork Animal Welfare League will take over the Town animal shelter on Youngs Avenue on March 1.

Supervisor Walter will once again travel to Albany to convince lawmakers that a Riverhead plan to establish a commission which would expedite planning at EPCAL would be beneficial to the people.
