Nothing New to Report (about the Reclamation dilemna)
Riverhead Supervisor Phil Cardinale added nothing to the Reclamation project investigation during his weekly radio confab on local station WRIV. The Town still awaits additional reports as well as findings from the DEC. These may dictate the final direction which the Town must take to resolve the issue. Cap the landfill or continue to reclaim is the question of course. Whatever a course of action is selected, the Town must find the funds to support the choice.
Things got a little testy when a caller suggested that the DA or another outside agency be called in to investigate the situation instead of one chosen by the Supervisor. Cardinale immediately stated that he would have no objection to that and welcomes such an action if that happens.
Mastronardi not on the Agenda 7/4/06 (again)
It is difficult to understand what is happening regarding the Mastronardi subdivision. We fully expected the Planning Board to announce a public hearing on this proposal and yet nothing seems to happen. We will try to keep an eye on this and pass it along whenever something appears to be happening. This writer is unhappy that you can't reach anyone in Planning for an answer and difficult to get a call back.
Keep ATVs off Private Property
Bill Anderson, our tree nursery neighbor to the south has reported that a number of atvs have been running across his property, digging ruts and destroying valuable plantings. Also reports that Posted signs have been taken down. He would appreciate knowing of any one abusing these adjacent properties. 369-1600.
Good neighbors are hard to find sometimes.
