Preserve Journal ---On The Road
Scorching heat here in Central Texas. Consecutive days of 104 degrees is burning up lawns and pastures.

George W. Bush Redux
While visiting family in Crawford, took a lunch break in "W's" favorite haunt "Coffee Station" a place enjoyed by the former Prez and great for huge burgers.

Mars Bar Anyone?
One of the great international candy organizations is of course, M&M Mars (now only called Mars.) They employ over 67,000 people worldwide. Their plant in Waco is a great place to visit and if you are ever in that Central Texas town find some way to get a personalized tour of the entire candy making operation. There are Snickers, Starbursts, Almond Clusters and Skittles just pouring out of that magnificent place. Did you know that Snickers are now over 75 years old.

Another historical note.
Waco, Texas is the town where Dr pepper was invented and it is still a strong favorite at every restaurant and fast food place in these parts.
