Group Demands More LIRR Service
Legislator Ed Romaine joined Commissioner of Jurors Michael O'Donohoe and Riverhead Supervisor Phil Cardinale in demanding that the LIRR provide more service in and out of Riverhead. Commuters more often than not drive to another station that has greater frequency.


Cardinale: "No Increase in Taxes".
The Supervisor once again says that he will not increase taxes. He plans to allocate some of the Town's reserve fund in order to meet the budget..
(9/30 Cardinale budget has 2.9% increase in taxes)


Sand mining Next Door? No Fee?
Excavating sand (sand mining) in Riverhead is a sensitive issue and when done it requires a permit and fees paid for the sand removed. When construction began on the subdivision adjacent to the Preserve were the sand mining or excavation fees waived and why?

Palmer Vineyards For Sale
Robert Palmer, who was at the forefront of the vineyard business on Long Island, passed away last year and now his family is selling the 61 acre vineyard in Aquebogue (6.9 million) and the vineyard in Cutchogue (3.9 million).

912 Project and Meet the Candidates
This conservative group has put together an interesting program for it's members. On Wednesday evening 9/30 it will offer a Meet the Candidates opportunity and has assembled candidates for Riverhead Supervisor, Town Councilpersons and three potentials for the congressional seat now held by Tim Bishop. 9/30.....6:00 pm.....Polish Hall.
