No Back Seat for Walter
Riverhead Supervisor is ready to fight for his job and told them so at a Republican gathering at the Elks Club. He accused Democrats of bringing out "leftovers" by nominating Phil Cardinale who will challenge Sean Walter (R) for the Town Supervisor position.
$75 Million Dollar Bond Issue
The Riverhead School District will finalize the long rumored bond issue sometime later this year and present it for a citizens vote. The original $80 million has been pared down to $75 million and represents repair and renovation money for all schools in the district except Phillips Avenue Elementary. It is now estimated that the average homeowner will have to pay an additional $185 a year to service that debt in addition to the school tax increase passed just this week.
Who Will Challenge Bishop?
Now that Randy Altschuler has thrown his hat in the ring as a candidate for the GOP nomination for Suffolk County Executive will he now walk away from a bid to challenge Tim Bishop for the Congressional seat?
