Pindar Installing Wind Turbine

Pindar Vineyards has announced that it will install a 100 watt wind turbine on vineyard grounds.  Several other vineyards have already installed similar turbines but of much lesser wattage.  Pindar expects that the wind power unit will provide most of the electrical power needs for the vineyard.  Pindar owners credit Southold Supervisor Scott Russell with speeding up the permit process enabling them to complete the project in time to be eligible for a goverment 30% grant.

Middle School Break In
Two burglars are being saught by Riverhead police as suspects in the breakin of the Middle School on Harrison and the removal equipment and cash.

McCain Disses The Island
Sen. John McCain of Arizona made a joke that backfired on him yesterday.  In a speech before the Senate McCain was quoted as saying, "Last I checked, Long Island was a part - albeit sometimes regrettably - a part of the United States of America".  Some congressmen passed it off while others took exception to McCain trying to make a joke at the expense of Long Islanders.

Tea Party Sues Mayor
The Richmond (Virginia) Tea Party has sued the mayor of that city for expenses incurred by their tea party rally in the town center.  They  state that the mayor (Dwight Jones (D) has authorized payment (taxpayer money) of all expenses incurred by the "Occupy Richmond" bunch and personally endorsed and attended the Occupier rallies.
