Peconic Medical Center
Needs parking..lots of parking. The medical center is in dire need of additional parking spaces. Their lots are full just about every day. There is consideration to establish remote fields with shuttle bus service perhaps to the Target, TJ Max or Staples parking fields. This would be primarily for hospital employees.
The building formerly owned by PC Richards has parking but will soon open as an oncology center. Two tier parking in the main lot on the west side of Roanoke would be an expensive proposition but is being considered. Plan would be to establish an assisted living or surgery unit on a third floor which could offset construction costs.
National Register...perhaps.
The town is considering applying for National Register on Sound Avenue and some streets downtown. This is not the same as Historic register but would provide tax credits in these areas.
