Come September a new beer should be brewing in Riverhead. Crooked Ladder a new micro-brew from the owner of Diggers on Main Street should be flowing from the taps. Stephen Wirth, owner of Diggers and his partners in the new brew are renovating the premises next door to Diggers and getting ready to install the necessary plumbing, pipes, tanks and barrels to start the process. Patrons will be able to taste the new beer come fall in Diggers.
Great Rock Sues Town
Great Rock Golf Course has sued the town for $25 million dollars claiming that the town has not been responsive to their proposals. The town responds by saying that Great Rock's plans call for non-conforming use of the property (which would include senior citizen housing) and therefore must first obtain a permit for such development..
Chick-fil-a Protest
The protests at 1600 Chick-fil-a restaurants around the country this past week kind of left Long Islanders out in the cold. Although there may be a Chick-fil-a in one of the malls there are no stand alone stores around the island. Too bad because they do have a good product.
