Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter will present the town's budget for 2013 at a meeting at Town Hall on Friday morning 9/28. The meeting will start at 10 am and will be live blogged by the Times Review newspaper. Supervisor Walter expects the budget to result in a 2.6 million dollar deficit unless the town can come up with reduced spending or additional income.
Altschuler-Bishop Debate This Week
The second in a series of debates between incumbent congressman Tim Bishop (D) and Randy Altschuler of St. James will be held on Thursday evening 9/27 at 7 pm at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall. The two are vying for the Congressional seat currently held by Mr. Bishop. Seats are limited to 250. Viewers at home can see the debate through live streaming on the Times-Review web site.
The next debate is scheduled for 7 pm October 15 at the Bridgehampton School.
St. Isidore Marks 50 Years
The elementary school of St. Isidore's Roman Catholic church in Riverhead celebrated a 50th anniversary this past week. The event was attended by several dignitaries and prominent political figures from the North Fork.
