FAA Wants Land
The FAA began running ads this week in a search for land on which to build the all new FAA traffic control center which would combine the functions of the facilities at MacArthur Airport and Westbury (Tracom).  The agency will require 45-50 acres of land on which to build.  They have still not ruled out going out of state but it seems more likely that it will be here on the island or Westchester.  Is this a perfect use for EPCAL or what?

Losquadro-Highwayman
The Suffolk Republican Party has given it's endorsement to Assemblyman Dan Losquadro for the position of Brookhaven Highway Superintendent. Losquadro was scheduled to be sworn in for his second term as state assemblyman next week.  A special election will be held next month to elect a successor to the state position.

Walter Special Election January
Supervisor Sean Walter(R) will become a Suffolk County legislator(D) next month if he can hold off Al Krupski(D) in a special election to be held next month. The election will fill the seat held by Ed Romaine who resigned to run for Brookhaven supervisor,a race he won easily).

Peconic Floods Riverfront
Recent storms have played havoc with the downtown area.  Flood waters  have covered the parking areas behind Main Street shops and restaurants coming precariously close to the back stairs of many establishments.

Fiscal Cliff Is Here
It would appear that little can be done to prevent the U.S. economy from diving headlong over the cliff and into some dark and troubling waters in the next few weeks.  How tired are you of hearing the same old excuses from Washington then simply allowing 300 million people to be clobbered with a ton of new taxes.  Obama, The Senate and the House should be embarrassed that they couldn't or wouldn't do anything constructive to avoid this.
