Police suspect that the act of one person knocking down a woman as she left the King Kullen store on Route 58 around noon time was an act similar to the "Knockout" perpetrated by youths in various cities. Knocking the victim down while running at a fast rate was purposeful and caused a nearby gang of youths to laugh at the act. This was intentional and an assault on a human being and should be punished accordingly.
It should also serve as a precaution to any citizens who frequent that strip of stores.
Bellone has thoughts of trolleys operating on the LIRR tracks from Riverhead to Orient. He should be reminded that the railroad has been working on smaller or "skoot" trains to run the same route. Mr. Bellone: I don't think so!
The Planning Board has finally made a decision on the restaurant that was planned for the sliver of land between Taco Bell and Harrison Avenue. The Board rejected the application 3-2. Case closed.
Schiliro to Oppose Palumbo
Suffolk County Park Policeman Tom Schiliro (and Manorville resident) has been selected by the Democratic Party to oppose State Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo(R) in the coming election scheduled for November.
Phillips Avenue Teacher Treated by EMTs
A fourth grade teacher from the Phillips Avenue school received emergency treatment from a number of emergency personnel who were attending a sports night at the school. The teacher was revived quickly by the trained EMTs and is now recovering at Stony Brook Medical Center.
