Oncology Center Opens in Riverhead
The North Shore Oncology and Hematology Center will open on Monday August 4.  The center, located in newly constructed building on route 58 and Northville =Turnpike will be equipped with the very latest equipment for cancer treatment.

Helicopter Forum
A community forum to discuss island helicopter routes and noise will be held at 6 pm on August 11 in Peconic.  Senator Schumer is expected to attend the meeting.

Instructor Injured
The Skydive jump instructor who was injured in a skydiving incident this past week remains in hospital. A student, Gary Messina, a NY Corrections officer, was fatally injured when a sudden gust of wind or "dust devil" suddenly caused their chute to collapse when they were about 75 feet from the ground.
