Hunters, Deer and other Wildlife

Neighbors are hearing what they believe to be gunshots in the nearby woods. We have heard the same. In driving east on Youngs Avenue on Sunday morning I did see an SUV or station wagon backed into the woods at a point just 50 feet or so from the Reclamation site. There have been numerous sightings of deer recently. They are running across the back of properties as well as on front lawns. A large buck with a sizeable antler rack has also been spotted.

Some local farmers of course, have licenses to hunt wildlife that damage their crops but it seems that we are past harvest for most vegetables except for a few scattered fields. This sounds like hunters but we aren't sure whether there is a current hunting season and which animals are being hunted. If there are any outdoorsman reading, please shed some light for us.
