Town Awaits Report On Reclamation Audit
Riverhead Town Supervisor, Phil Cardinale says that the Town is now awaiting the results of a fact finding audit to determine the current and future status of the landfill reclamation project on Youngs Avenue. There has been no significant news about the project and the Board members including the Supervisor simply repeat the same statements we have heard since the project was shut down for lack of funds. We have heard nothing about securing Federal funding, low interest loans, State emergency funding or grants. This is a hot potato and there have been some huge mistakes made with taxpayer monies. Anyone's guess as to where this is going but it isn't going to be good.
Planning Board Meets June 1, Thursday at 7:00 PM.
As of Tuesday, May 30 at 2:00 PM, the Mastronardi subdivision was not included on the agenda for Thursday evening, June 1. Revised plans for the development have apparently not been submitted to the Board. We have learned to keep an eye on this. When and if the subdivision once again comes before the Board, we will of couse, ask your help in protesting the proposed cut through of the cul-de-sac.
