Stop the Tap Street Now!!

Don't forget the Planning Board meeting on October 5 at 7:00 PM. Young & Young will present final drawings to the Board for the Mastronardi subdivision and will include cutting through the cul-de-sac from The Preserve into the new subdivision just east of us.

Please attend the meeting. Show that our community is unified and against this cut through. The Board has previously approved the tap street by an arbitrary vote of just 3-2. Just watching the school bus as it picks up the kids in the morning and drops them off later in the day brings home the need for safety and security in this neighborhood. We don't need additional traffic or an active thoroughfare to jeopardize school kids, walkers, people on bikes or moms pushing strollers.

Expect Large Tax Increase

Supervisor Cardinale advised the public on Friday (9/29) to expect a tax increase in the neighborhood of 15%. Reserve funding will be insufficient to offset the increase which is expected in anticipation of landfill costs (capping or reclaiming). Meanwhile the Supervisor states that several parties have expressed interest in taking over the site. Nothing really serious at this point.

F1 Go-Kart Still Alive

The F1 Go-Kart proposal for Edwards Avenue is still alive and kicking despite some early opposition to the track facility. Their application continues.

Mmm...F1 Go Kart, Riverhead Raceway, Top Gun track at EPCAL. Could the Soap Box Derby be next? Maybe bumper cars on Main Street.
