To everyone in The Preserve
and everywhere else on Earth,
we wish you all

A Merry Christmas

Happy Hanukkah

and a healthy,

Happy New Year

and a special greeting to all our men and women in the armed forces everywhere praying that they will return to their families safely.

Kudos to the Riverhead News-Review for the excellent series on the Calverton Industries sandmining situation. If you haven't read it, find the article which appeared in last week's Review on this subject and a followup item this week. Lots of untold stories here including some questionable oversight by the DEC. Good work Denise Civiletti.

Supervisor Cardinale reporting that 3 contractors have presented proposals whereby they would take over the landfill and complete the reclamation. This has a long way to go before it can be finalized, if ever. This has to get done right after the new year or the Town will be up against the deadline imposed by the DEC extension.

Congratulations to Vince Tria for being officially named the Town Ombudsman. You may remember that we asked Vince to look into our cul-de-sac problem some time ago. He agreed with our complaint at that time but didn't have much influence to make a change at that time. Perhaps he can this time around.

The Christmas lights on the homes in The Preserve look great. Never have seen so many. Just great.

A personal wish for everyone in The Preserve. Never been a friendlier neighborhood anywhere and it has been a very special four years. A very Merry Christmas to all and to all......a good night!
