Malverne Deputy Supe Will Be Named To Riverhead CSD
Diane Scricca currently Deputy Supeintendent of the Malverne School District will be named to the position of Superintendent, Riverhead Schools, the announcement to be made in a few weeks, perhaps to coincide with voting on the annual school budget. The school budget is expected to reach $100 million dollars or close to it.
Calverton Says "No" to Raceway
Hal Lindstrom, representing the Greater Calverton Civic Association, advised the Town Board that the Association has voted unanimously against the Raceway which has been proposed for EPCAL. Lindstrom, an officer of the civic asociation, is also a potential candidate for a seat on the Town Board in the fall election.
Staggering Fee
Many residents of Hampton Bays were astounded recently to learn that their interim School
Superintendent was being paid $1200 to $1600 a day. Needless to say, many questions are being asked and many want answers.
Four Year Terms for Town Officials? A referendum to change the elective terms of the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk to four (4) years is likely to be placed on the November ballot. The proposal is strongly supported by present Supervisor Cardinale.
Don't Like Your Assessment? The Board of Assessors has completed the assessment roll for the current year 2007-2008 and can be reviewed at the Office of the Assessor in accordance with the following schedule: Wednesday 5/9, 10am to 3pm......Thursday 5/10, 10am to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm............... Friday 5/11, 10am to 3pm..........Saturday 5/12, 9am to 1pm. If you object to the assessment you can attend an assessment review on May 15 from 10am to 12 pm and 6pm to 8pm. Better have your paperwork together.
