Coming to a Town Near You - Sex Offenders
County Executive Levy is keeping his word with Southampton officials by positioning 3 trailers near the prison at the County Center to accommodate a group of sex offenders who had been living in similar trailers at Hampton Bays. Despite protests by the Riverhead Town Board members and personal intervention by Supervisor Cardinale, the County Executive will not back off the plan.
The live-ins are free to roam the streets of Riverhead during the day, are just a short walk from the Public Library and less than a mile from the nearest school. There are no food facilities at the trailer site and the inhabitants will have to find food nearby. Legislator Ed Romaine has scheduled a news conference at the site on Friday and hopes to highlight this betrayal by the County.
Speak up and take your town back!!!!
Gas Prices Climbing Quickly
Drive around town and you will see gas prices climbing so quickly that you can't keep track of them. Low side seems to be about 3.07 going upward to 3.09, 3.17 and I have seen a 3.25 (what are they thinking ?) on rte 58.
Have seen several emails recommending boycotts of several of the larger chains showing that people are getting totally fed up with the gouging and are ready to do something about it.
The "supply and demand" theorists like Rush Limbaugh and Neil Cavuto are wrong about this and pandering to the oil interests. Sorry, this is happening too often and the public is sick of it. .....and nary a word from your good Senators or Representatives much less the White House.
Speak up and take back your Country!!!!
