Guv Proposes 4 % Cap School Taxes.


Governor David Paterson, this week is sending a bill to the State Assembly which will hold the line on school property taxes at just 4%. Whether the bill will be passed is unknown at this point, but is a step in the right direction.

Meanwhile, seven (7) school district budgets are up for re vote having been rejected by their residents in recent voting. East Moriches has elected to initiate an austerity budget instead of a re vote.
